About PDS Health

PDS Health, formerly Pacific Dental Services, was founded 30 years ago with the goal of becoming the greatest dental company in America and has since evolved into a broader integrated health organization connecting dental and medical care to improve patient outcomes. PDS offers business support services to almost 1,000 dental and primary care practices situated in some of the largest designated market areas in the United States, spanning 25 states. PDS was the first dental support organization to integrate Epic, the most widely used electronic health record, into its supported dental practices, and is a prominent authority on the Mouth-Body Connection, working to advance collaboration between dental and medical professionals.

Leadership

Stephen E. Thorne IV Founder & CEO

Stephen E. Thorne IV holds a BA and MHA and founded Pacific Dental Services in 1994 after entering the healthcare industry in 1989 to manage a struggling dental office for his father, a dentist. The success of that first office led him to found PDS, which has grown into one of the country's leading dental and medical support organizations. He was instrumental in forming the Association of Dental Support Organizations (ADSO) and serves as a prominent national voice on the oral-systemic link.

Joanna Rodgers Executive Vice President

Joanna Rodgers joined Pacific Dental Services in 1995 and has served the organization in all levels of management, including Director, VP of Operations, and Regional Partner for the Southwest Region, which won Region of the Year in 2012, 2013, and 2015. She received the PDS Career Champion Award in 2014. Today, Joanna supports administrative leadership across the organization and oversees both the Marketing and Communications teams. She also serves as Chairman of the Board for the PDS Health Foundation, helping guide its mission to improve overall health through service and access to care.
